- Do I genuinely enjoy studying Biology? If no — MBBS will be 8+ years of misery regardless of salary. Don't let parents decide this.

- Do I want stability or high earning potential? Govt jobs give stability. Tech/medicine give high earning potential. Both are valid.
- Can my family afford 5–6 years of education? MBBS is 5.5 years minimum. B.Tech is 4. B.Sc is 3. Know your constraints.
- Am I willing to give competitive exams? JEE/NEET require 1–2 years of dedicated prep. If not, direct-admission routes exist for equally good careers.
